A new study by researchers at Harvard and other leading drug companies reveals that the popular erectile dysfunction medication tadalafil (Cialis) is more effective than other popular erectile dysfunction treatments such as Viagra. It's the only erectile dysfunction medication on the market that has been shown to be safe, effective, and efficacious for most patients.
In their, scientists at Harvard's drug research center in Boston found that the average men taking the drugs experienced lower levels of side effects compared with those men who did not take them. They also found that the drugs were more effective than the placebo for treating erectile dysfunction.
"The drug-drug interaction is not a cure for erectile dysfunction but can help patients improve their quality of life and overall well-being," said co-author Dr. Michael J. Tosti, a professor of medicine and head of the Harvard School of Public Health. "This is a significant development because it could potentially lead to the development of new treatments for ED that are not available in the market. And it's also a significant milestone that the researchers had hoped to make."
The study was part of a larger study that was recently completed at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine that was designed to explore the effectiveness of tadalafil in treating erectile dysfunction.
The study involved men with erectile dysfunction and other conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, a type of enlarged prostate, and benign prostatic hyperplasia, a type of cancer.
Tadalafil was also tested for its effects on blood flow to the penis, and other factors such as age, overall health, and lifestyle. It's believed that the men taking tadalafil were also at a higher risk of developing heart disease than those who took the placebo.
According to the study, men taking tadalafil experienced a 20 percent lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction compared to those taking the placebo. That means that the risk of developing erectile dysfunction is about 15 percent lower in men taking tadalafil.
The study involved more than 1,000 men, some of whom had been taking tadalafil for five years or more, as well as a group of patients with erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. In the placebo group, about half of the men who took the drugs were still taking tadalafil and half of the patients were still taking the placebo.
Researchers were particularly interested in finding out whether the drugs might help patients with the condition.
The drug was studied in more than 100 men in California who were trying to get pregnant. Researchers found that those who took tadalafil were more likely to be fertile.
The study also showed that men who took the drugs had lower rates of erectile dysfunction compared to those who took the placebo.
Tadalafil's potential benefits for those with the condition included a reduction in urinary incontinence, a condition in which a man's erectile dysfunction causes urinary symptoms like painful urination and urgency.
"It has recently been proven to be safe and effective in treating the symptoms of erectile dysfunction in men, and this makes it an attractive alternative," said co-author Dr. Michael Tosti, president of the Men's Health Initiative, which is a clinical trial to study the use of tadalafil.
The study also revealed that patients taking tadalafil for the condition were more likely to report that they had no side effects when they took the drug, compared to patients taking placebo or the placebo-treated group.
The study, which included 12,000 men in the U. S., was published in May. It was funded by Pfizer Inc. and was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, such as grapefruit and grapefruit juice, and may alter the effectiveness of the medication. Here are the key drug-food interactions:
Cialis has been shown to cause some mild side effects. Talk to your health care provider if these do not go away within a few days. If you begin to experience more serious reactions, seek medical attention immediately.
Common side effects reported from Cialis use include:
More severe side effects include:
If you experience any of these side effects, seek medical attention immediately. These are symptoms of a severe adverse reaction to this medication that require immediate treatment.
As with all prescription medications, inform your doctor of any medical conditions you currently manage. Tell them about any and all medications, prescription drugs, and supplements you are taking before starting treatment with Cialis. Cialis can interact with bodily substances, causing potentially serious adverse reactions.
Specifically, you should inform your health care provider of any alpha-blocker, antifungal, HIV protease inhibitor, or high blood pressure medication you are taking. Remember to mention any herbal products you use, especially St. John’s wort.
In addition, let your doctor know if you have recently had heart surgery or experience chest pain during sex. If you experience any changes in your heartbeat or chest pain during sex, contact your health care provider immediately.

Cialis (tadalafil) is a medication that is available on the internet as well as in the form of tablets, vials, capsules and oral jelly. This is the case with all the other forms of the medication. Cialis is usually taken orally for about 5 to 10 days. The drug must be consumed in small quantities and must be given at a precise time. The exact timing of the dose is not always easy and it can be difficult to tell the difference between the timing of the dose and the time of the intake. The effects can be seen in the following case:
It should be noted that the effect of tadalafil is only to increase the strength of the drug and not to affect any of its other characteristics:
The drug must be consumed at a precise time and the timing of the dose can be determined by the doctor. In the case of the drug taken orally, the effect of the drug is seen in the following case:
The effect of tadalafil is not only to increase the strength of the drug but to cause it to dissolve and then become broken down by the enzymes in the body. It is also to decrease the effects of the drug because the drug is not absorbed into the body so it cannot be converted into a drug. The effect of the drug is more pronounced when the drug is taken with food, and the effect is more pronounced when it is taken with a large amount of water, and the effect is more pronounced when it is taken with a fatty meal. The effect of the drug cannot be reduced by the drug because it is absorbed into the body as well as through the stomach, therefore it cannot be prevented. The effects of the drug must be felt in the following case:
